Heath’s Personal Health Journey…
In July 2024, Heath received devastating news that once again changed our lives. He was diagnosed with prostate cancer. This wasn’t Heath’s first encounter with cancer, but it still deeply affected us. We had never known anyone who had prostate cancer, and we were clueless about the treatment options. However, one thing we were certain about, was the importance of prayer. After gathering our emotions, wiping away our tears, and seeking God’s guidance, we once again prayed for Heath to be cancer-free. A few family members were aware of Heath’s cancer diagnosis, but we generally kept it private from the public. We went radio silent (from social media) so we could gather our thoughts, and do what we do best—love each other unconditionally. Life is not guaranteed, and although we were unaware of the outcome, we were certain that our love would endure regardless of the challenges we encountered.

Fast forward to a year later, and receiving the best news ever! Heath is cancer-free! Won’t he do it? Thank you, God! Although the journey was long, we never lost faith. I’m personally delighted to have my best friend and husband by my side for many more blissful years to come.

We are thrilled to announce our return to cruising after an extended hiatus. Coincidentally, our very first B2B onboard Freedom of the Sea. The cruise will depart on September 6, 2025, and continue until September 15, 2025.

We are thrilled to return to our passion.
Hope to see you onboard Freedom of The Seas!
Cruising Through Challenges…
Now, some of you might be wondering, “July 2024? You two were on a cruise in November 2024?” That’s correct, and that’s the inspiration behind the title of this article, “Cruising through Challenges.” We honored our 2024 transatlantic cruise from Europe to New Jersey because Heath wanted to live a normal life until his treatments rendered him unable to sail. Prior to our sailing, Heath received clearance from his doctor to fly and sail, but he was given immunotherapy treatments to boost his immune system. The treatment worked exceptionally well until the descending part of our sailings, when Heath began to feel unwell. Despite his illness, he never complained, shunned anyone, or lost his positive attitude. Shortly after our sailing, Heath lost his facial hair, became bedridden, and struggled to care for himself most days.

What does “Cruising through Challenges” look like from Heath’s perspective? Of course, this is based on Heath’s personal experiences and what life was like for him. Some of the challenges he faced included walking, breathing, pain, and discomfort. Yes, we could have stayed home, but regardless of whether he was home or at sea, he would have felt the same. Therefore, he chose to pursue his passion while he still could and that’s CRUISING!
We want to personally express our deepest gratitude to everyone we met during our November 2024 Transatlantic sailing. We want to thank those who personally reached out to us to inquire our whereabouts. We are incredibly grateful for your unwavering support.
